D u s t is the working title of a series of drawings made for the exhibition 'nomadic settlers - settled nomads' at Bethanien Kunstraum from the 2nd of July 2011 till 28th of august 2011.
The theme of these series reflects upon human nature and the urge to cultivate ourselves.
These positive ideals conflict often with violent and agressive behaviour that is inherent to mankind. This rather negative aspect is the central theme of d u s t . The drawings show the agressive nature of mankind that uses culture and social development to create inhuman scenarios with a goal to destroy.
The drawings show cultural development as something artificial and violent. They display society as an experment that is build to be destroyed.
